Vacuum Protector
Presscon PV Series Vacuum Protector
Presscon PV-Series vacuum protectors ensure that a horizontal buffer tank is protected from vacuum. On a horizontal buffer tank, a piece of vertical pipe (diameter: 2″) is welded on each of the two ends at the highest point with a welding flange. A Presscon vacuum protector is mounted on each of the two flanges. In this way, the buffer tank is protected from vacuum.
When water flows from a buffer tank, the water level will first drop into the vacuum protector. If the water in the vacuum protector housing continues to sink, a vacuum is created.
The moment there is a vacuum between -2 and -4 mbar (different pressure possible on request), the pallet will be lifted off the seat. There is then an open connection to the outside air. Due to the pressure difference between outside and inside, outside air flows into the buffer tank. This equalizes the pressure difference.
By applying a Presscon PV-Series vacuum protector, an impermissible vacuum is prevented from forming in a horizontal tank and permanently changing the shape of the tank.
