ATEX vacuum overpressure safety valve
Presscon’s ATEX vacuum pressure relief valve is a specially developed safety valve for biogas and fermentation plants. In environments where methane and hydrogen sulfide are present, explosion hazards can occur. This ATEX-certified valve protects plants, employees and the environment from unwanted overpressure and vacuum, in full compliance with current ATEX guidelines.
The protector is constructed in 316 and come with an official certificate for use in ATEX zone 1, according to ATEX 114 Directive 2014/34/EU, category 2G.
How does the ATEX vacuum overpressure safety valve work?
The ATEX vacuum pressure relief valve continuously monitors the pressure in the installation. When the pressure exceeds the set value, the valve automatically opens and the gas is discharged safely via the blow-off fitting. On the contrary, if negative pressure develops, the valve opens to prevent damage to tanks and pipes.
The adjustment range is from -2 mbar vacuum to 30 mbar overpressure (adjustable by agreement). The valve has a DN200 flange connection with a butterfly valve so that the protector can be easily shut off for maintenance. The integrated condensate drainage system ensures that moisture can be discharged in a controlled manner. The entire construction is made of stainless steel 316 for high resistance to corrosion and harsh operating conditions.
